As a student, you may need to apply for various things concerning your study situation. It could be anything from credit transfers and requests for leave from studies to applications for degree certificates.

If you are unable to commence your studies at the date specified in your admission decision, you can apply for a deferment. A deferment is granted only if there are special grounds including social or medical grounds, or that you have not been granted leave from work on time. The grounds could also include caring for a sick child, illness, duties as a student representative, or military or civil service.
If you believe you already have studied an entire of part of a course, you can apply for credit transfer. More specific instructions can be found in the credit transfer application form.
If you need to take a temporary leave from studies, but you do not meet the special requirements for guaranteed admission, you can apply for a temporary leave from studies. When you wish to return to your studies, you will have to apply.
Application for temporary leave from studies
If you wish to take a temporary leave from studies, and you do not meet the requirements under “Application for leave from studies with guaranteed admission on return”, you can apply for a temporary leave from studies. The reasons for the temporary leave could be work, other studies or travel. There is no limit to how long your temporary leave may last, and you will keep your place on the programme. When you wish to return to your studies, you will have to apply (more information available below).
When should your application be submitted?
Applications should, if possible, be submitted no later than 15 April for the autumn semester, and 15 October for the spring semester.

Application for return to studies after a temporary leave
When you, after a temporary leave from studies, wish to return to studies you must apply. You will only be offered a place if one is available on the programme. You must also meet the entry requirements that apply for the course/semester.
If the number of applicants exceeds the number of available places, a selection will be made through the drawing of lots. Students who do not receive a place on the programme will be given priority (but not a guarantee) to any available places the following semester or start of the concerned course.
When should your application be submitted?
If you have been admitted to the nursing, radiology nursing, midwifery or specialist nursing programme, you must submit your application no later than 1 February for the autumn semester, and 1 September for the spring semester.
If you are enrolled in one of our other study programmes, you will need to submit your notification no later than 15 April for the autumn semester, and 15 October for the spring semester.
Please note that if you submit your application after the application deadline, you can only receive a place on the programme after the students who applied on time have received theirs.
If you wish to give up your place on the programme permanently, you are to report your “Termination of studies”.
After completing your studies, you can apply for both an academic qualification (Bachelor’s, Master’s 60 credits or Master’s 120 credits) and a professional qualification. You must obtain your degree certificate from the University before you can apply for professional registration at the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare.
If you want to include freestanding courses and/or courses from other higher education institutions in your academic qualification, you must fill in the form “List of qualifications”.
